ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Erie County Parks Department and Chestnut Ridge Conservancy have joined forces to create an inclusive playground at Chestnut Ridge Park. The two have been planning to create this park for years and have raised nearly half of the project's cost. The total project is estimated to cost $425,000 and the team is calling on local residents to help fund the remainder of the cost.

The park will be located right near the Chestnut Ridge Park Casino, insuring easy access to bathrooms, the casino cafe, and the adaptive parking lot.

The team is holding a public meeting on Sunday, January 26 so residents can have their voices heard on the project. No park deign or types of adaptive equipment have been chosen, but the team says the park will look something like this.

Chestnut Ridge Park Casino Meeting Rooms

• Chestnut Ridge has 2 indoor buildings available for rent year-round, as well as various shelters available May 1- Oct 15. The Commissioners Cabin is available to rent April 1- Nov 30. The Lower Meeting Room of the Casino is also available to rent year-round. From December 1- April 15, you may reserve an area for 4 hours.
• Chestnut Ridge Park - Shelters. Casino Meeting RM: 60. Alcohol is NOT permitted with a Lower Room rental at the Chestnut Ridge Casino.
• The circa 1925 casino features a meeting room, concessions and an observation platform on the upper level with a great view of the city of Buffalo. The Eternal Flame Falls, a 35 foot (10 meters) high waterfall with three natural gas flames, is located within the park.
• The lower meeting room in the Casino is also available to rent year round. The area is available for reservation from November 1- April 15 for four hours and it is allowed to contain up to 40 people. Outside of the Casino building, there are bench swings set up on the very top of the sledding hill which offer views of Buffalo as well.

This 53,000 square foot facility is the largest indoor area for exposition-type activities between Charleston and Pittsburgh. It consists of a 48,600 square feet main hall, with a supporting structure of 5,250 square feet for storage, administrative offices, restrooms, lobby, and a warming kitchen. Our facility provides over one acre of indoor space for trade shows, dinners, sporting events and rentals for private parties, reunions, or receptions. As well as the main hall can seat up to 4,500 persons, has room for 220 10’x10′ booths, or four regulation size basketball courts. Funding for the construction of this facility was from the Hazel Ruby McQuain Charitable Trust. Mylan Park’s Community Center & Pavilion is a great place for any event.
